"Nil-by-mouth for no reason - procedure delay..."

My very elderly father has been diagnosed with cancer, is an in-patient(!), and has been scheduled three times for a (very minor) procedure to try and "narrow down the possibilities" for the source of his cancer.

So for 3-days out of the 7-days he has been in QA, he has been forced to go "nil-by-mouth" (no food or drink) for a day prior to the scheduled procedure.

And every time, the procedure has not occurred.

So my father has been starved for 3 of 7 days for no reason, and no reason has been given to him, or me, as to why the procedure was cancelled.

This is unconscionable!

Plus, despite his confirmed cancer diagnosis, he is still not on an oncology ward, but is still being "assessed".

No wonder that QA has such the very bad reputation locally that it does.
