"Two bad first impressions"

Registration and booking appointments went well.

I then went into the surgery to pick up a sample bottle in preparation for my new patient check up with the nurse.

They could not find the bottle and then called out across the reception "is it for testing infection"? That felt humiliating and embarrassing.

I did address the issue with them and they apologised.

Even so I found it very unprofessional.

I arrived in good time to see the nurse on Friday 5th August. I asked them if all was running to time and was told yes there is only one person in front of you.

After waiting 20 minutes I enquired again to be told that the patient in front of me was still with the nurse and that I was next.

I waited again and after 45 minutes after my appointment time I was asked to the desk to be told the nurse had not turned up for work and that I would have to be fitted in.

I was furious.

I asked to speak to the Manager who came out and found no solution. They said they could rebook me or that I could wait to be fitted in with no timescale. I had taken time off work for this appointment and was left waiting for 45 minutes and they knew the nurse was not in.

A waste of my precious time.

They should have notified me by phone or text that the nurse had not turned up or at least have told me when I arrived.

Bad first impressions.
