"Great care from urology team"

About: Lister Hospital

I was taken in to Lister with a kidney stone and infection. I had great care from the nurses on 7B and the junior doctors. A short stay and I was back on my feet! Only shame was the consultant never even saw me during the stay, supposedly he hardly ever comes to the ward which was a bit of a shock. A friend who had a big cancer operation by the same consultant said he never saw them afterwards either, just their understudies, didnt think the NHS was like that anymore. Even so the care was great, 5 stars

Thank you for getting in touch. Great to hear that you are happy with the care that you received - I'm sure the staff on 7B will be happy to hear about it when we pass it on to them. It may be difficult for consultants to visit patients at times, especially if they're needed in emergency situations - but we understand that patients would like to at least speak to the consultant face-to-face if possible. We'll also make the clinical team aware of that too. We wish you all the best.
