"Patient transport"

I think the service has been absolutely rubbish since taking over from NSL in Chesterfield area, waiting four and half hours yesterday for transport home from Weston Park Hospital, waiting three and a half hours on another day to go for treatment and two and a half hours to come back, waiting two hours ( up to yet ) for transport to go for treatment today.

Speaking to people in control room who keep telling me on their way, asked to speak to supervisor / manager none available, I am not expecting a taxi service but I think a time slot of one and a half hours is quite reasonable, but this just seems pathetic.

East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) took over the Patient Transport Services (PTS) contract from NSL in Derbyshire on Monday 1 August 2016. As is often the case with a new service over the first few days we experienced significant logistical challenges and a surge in demand far greater than that which had been predicted using previous service data.

We have taken steps to avoid similar problems arising again. Together with our commissioners and the hospitals we are working hard to identify problems and resolve them as quickly as possible.

The new service is less than two weeks old and feedback will continue to allow us to improve so that we can provide the best possible service to our patients and meet our contractual obligations.
