Peninsula is a friendly, calm, professional and effective environment for day case surgery. The staff are professional yet friendly and they do their best to make sure you are comfortable. I was well looked after, with the surgeon and anesthetist explaining what was going to happen incredibly in a professional and compassionate manner. I was looked after very well as I came round and had the shakes and my concerns and requirements were all taken into consideration and dealt with appropriately. When I got back to the day ward, I was treated brilliantly and given some excellent sandwiches and as much tea as I could drink! Following past day operations (in other centres), I have ended up being late leaving, as other people who have not coped well with the after-effects of anaesthetic have, understandably, taken priority. I have always been lucky that I recovered well, as was the case this time and, although the staff were still very busy with this type of case, I did not feel as if I was less of a priority and I ended up leaving the centre much earlier than previously, which was a nice surprise. The only down-side of the stay was the pre-op chairs, which were not at all comfortable to sit on for any length of time - however, when the nurse noticed I was uncomfortable, they found me somewhere else to sit, which was very much appreciated.
"The most efficient day case op I've had so far."
