What I liked
Our son was rushed to special care a few hours after he was born. The attention to detail of the staff ensured that his stroke was diagnosed early and that treatment could start immediately. This is giving our lovely boy the best chance at getting the use of his affected limbs.
The place was clean and calm despite it being really busy and there clearly being a shortage of beds. The staff always called us and all our children by name, this made a huge difference. When the consultant was discussing our son with us she never needed to refer to her notes, she knew who we were and even 6 weeks later at out patients she still refered to things in hospital so she obvioulsy remembered us and our case history. This gave us a lot of confidence in the staff at special care.
The family room was good and kept our toddler entertained.
There was good facilities to express milk in private.
What could be improved
There could be a radio in the expressing room but I guess most people have ipod things these day.
