"Waiting hours for medication"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / General surgery

(as the patient),

I cannot understand why with the notes in front of them, the doctor still asks you to go through all the times you have had operations, or just if you have been in hospital. I thought the young doctor who saw me at the pre-med interview was very rude to me about not accepting blood because in my religion that is taboo. The nurses in my ward and senior staff were very kind and helpful. Ring the bell and they came as soon as possible. The only thing that I cannot understand is why when you are told you can go after the doctors have said you are discharged, you have to then wait for hours for your medication. I wonder why you can’t be given a prescription so you can go and get the medication yourself?
