"Brilliant treatment for heart attack"

About: University Hospital Lewisham

I took my wife to Lewisham A & E on the afternoon of Sunday July 24th after a suspected heart attack. Despite there being many other ( apparent ) patients she was correctly prioritised as needing urgent attention and was seen straight away in adult urgent care. The doctor and nurses carried out a series of tests and the doctor determined that she had suffered an heart attack and needed an angiogram and angioplasty. In the meantime she was stabilised and wired and tubed up to minimise the risk of further problems. The next morning she was taken to Kings by blue light ambulance for the angiogram and angioplasty returning to the Lewisham coronary care (CCG ?) ward that evening. She was discharged on the following afternoon - Tuesday - looking and feeling OK. My wife had a triple by pass operation in Kings in February and it would appear that one of the tubes failed and became blocked. We are very grateful to the doctor in A&E who knew exactly what to do and explained things very clearly to us.

So thank you to the doctor and the other staff for looking after my wife so expertly and speedily. I think that they were helped by my wife taking the notes from her first operation with her. We would also like to add that my wife received similar speedy and effective treatment at Lewisham A&E after her first heart attack at the end of January before being sent to Kings for the by pass operation.
