I am a support worker. I visit and call on behalf of an outpatient. Fed up of being told at reception they cannot put a note on a patients record as they have no access and then not being offered a solution! Therefore, no record of any contact made by patient! Also, phone has never been answered first or second time. I ended up calling different numbers to get through. As support workeworkers, we too are equally busy and equally important to a patients care. This is not on. Patients often have to work themselves up to even attempt one call and are put off by a constantly ringing phone! Your reception staff are ill informed with no access to email addresses to doctors, unable to pass over messages, not being bothered about answering phone with a few rings! Please do not say it's down to being busy as I've visited and it is not. Thanks.
