Dear reviewer, thank you for taking the time to review Accident & Emergency at Leicester Royal Infirmary.

We are very sorry to hear that your partner has experienced a long delay to receive the right treatment.

Unfortunately with the very nature of ‘Accident and Emergency’ delays do occur (there may have been a major incident or just a lot of people coming in that evening which will and does have a knock on affect slowing down x-ray, availability of porters etc) and we can only apologise for the delay.

We have also undergone two temporary moves in recent months, while waiting for the new A&E and Minor Injuries areas to open in March 2017. This means that minor injury patients have to go to the Urgent Care Centre first, and there have been delays getting patients on to actual Minor Injury area. This is a temporary problem and we are doing our best to limit the delays.

Once again, we do apologise and hope your partner is now recuperating.

Kind regards, Communications Team, Leicester’s Hospitals.
