I had the pleasure of attending the Queen Elizabeth Queen Mother Hospital on several occasions with my 82 year old mother who was referred for a knee replacement operation.
I have got to say that the service provided from the orthopaedic team was very impressive from the pre-assessment department who were extremely thorough to the day of the operation.
On the day of the operation we were greeted with a smile and a friendly face from the nursing staff, everything was explained to my parents who being in their eighties and only ever been in hospital for my mother's first knee replacement they were very anxious but grateful for the friendly face.
The consultant and anaethetist gave an excellent explanation of what was going to happen on the day and made my parents less anxious and relax a little.
Once the operation had been completed and my mother was transferred to Quex Ward the nursing staff stepped in, the Senior Staff Nurse who delivered a service above and beyond what I expected, it was a pleasure that someone cared for my mother as much as I would have, nothing was too much trouble.
I would like to thank everybody at the hospital who made my mother's experience as enjoyable as it could have been under the circumstances.
Many thanks once again to all who were involved and keep up the excellent work you are an asset to the NHS.
"Extremely Impressed"
