I wanted to send a massive thank you and huge compliments to the Team West Breastfeeding support services. I have had 2 children in the last 2 years (my 2nd 3 weeks ago!) And successfully breastfed them both- purely down to the fantastic support of the breastfeeding support staff and notably the excellent tongue tie service at the hospital and the quick referrals. We attended the breastfeeding classes before our first little girl in 2014 left and the information came in so useful in the early days -my husband took a lot from them and was able to provide me the much needed support in the early days. Staff members came out from the day after I was let out from the hospital and gave me lots of help through engorged boobs due to pumping and feeding in the hospital, pain from tongue tie, using nipple shields and trying different positions. They were always happy to help, visiting when needed and at the end of the phone. I had a few more problems later on and was able to use their support again and then was referred to the breastfeeding clinic where I was diagnosed with reynaurds and after me cutting down on my caffeine I was pain-free again! This time around I had the same level of support again, from my early days panic due to the extended no eating of my little girl, having Facebook bosom buddies messenger on the other end was a godsend and staff came straight out to see me the following morning - having talked me through exactly what would happen (cluster feed all night!) :-) again a tongue tie was found and immediately I was referred and had an appointment within 5 days. The service available is undoubtedly a fantastic one and just want to ensure my gratitude and thanks is passed on. My journey would not have been as successful without all the support around 24/7. I feel privileged to live in an area with such fantastic services and people.
