I have been to a and e twice in a year, once with my wife and once with my dad.
If you manage to be seen in less than 7 hours consider yourself lucky. The waiting times are beyond a joke no matter how serious your issues is. I have seen people keeled over in pain waiting for 5 hours. Avoid this place like the plague!!
