"Excellent care at the East Surey hospital"

About: East Surrey Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

I have been a out/in patient at the East Surrey hospital over the past five years being treated for prostate. Diabetes and wet maccular degeneration together with problems passing blood in my urine. I cannot speak too highly of the care and consideration that I have received at all times from the staff from receptionists to the various consultants. All have been most corteous and helpful at all times.

Similarly my wife having fallen down stairs and broken her ankle had he paramedics and ambulance turn up witin 10 minutes of our call, was in hospital, x rayed and had her ankle" bound up" was in a bed by the next morning and fully reated within the nexr two days - wonderful treatmet

Dear Rastus,

Thank you for giving us such positive feedback about your experience of being a patient across a number of different medical specialties. One of our four Trust values is 'one team' and another is 'dignity and respect', so it is always great to hear that all our staff, regardless of their role, are living those values and being courteous and helpful.

I hope your wife is recovering from her ankle injury and that you both continue to receive the high quality service you describe.

With best wishes,

Cathy White

Update posted by Rastus (the patient)

Cathy's response realises all the care and attention that we received from the hospital staff. What I ommitted to say was that my wife having broken her ankle did in fact receive the basic care within 90 minutes of leaving our home with the full resetting done during the next day - in all of the time she was medicated to the extent that the ankle was a shade uncomfortable but she was not in pain. As my previous comments the staff were wonderful and have not deserved what I regard as derogatory letters in the local paper over the past two years.
