"What a fantastic care centre!"

At my given appointment time of 06.30 am it was though a starting gun was fired! I was met in the reception area and escorted to my ward/bed and given gentle instructions to get into the not so trendy bed gown, amid lots of quips all round. Then into a range of pre-operation testing, blood pressure, blood sampling, blood sugar, shaving my leg, all done with great care and attention, not forgetting the humour (some of the nurses and staff could be on the stage). Then onto the injections needed prior to the operation, sedation, local anaesthetic and the lumbar-puncture, all done professionally. The operation was a breeze for me, I heard all the banging, screwing, sawing and that ratchet on the socket set but all was fine. I felt and witnessed the care,attention and utterly professional conduct of the entire "Team" who all made my experience at Barlborough Treatment Centre a pleasant one. PS: It was worth giving them my knee for the wonderful, food, care,the craic with the staff, and a totally wonderful memorable experience! Thank you "Team"

PS: Almost forgot to mention the Physio Team, who gently instructed me to do some specific exercises and handle a walking frame and crutches in readiness for my return home. All this in just three days. Fantastic!
