About: Bradford Royal Infirmary Women's Unit

(as the patient),

What I liked It might sound strange but i really enjoyed my stay at the Maternity Unit. I was in and out a few times due to my baby being transverse lie. The staff took very good care of me, always explained everything to me and listened when i had worries. The ward was extremely clean with the cleaners coming around several times a day. I had a c-section and was unable to look after my baby for the first night which was heartbreaking, the staff were brilliant and took over my role for that night and gave me all the help i needed. The staff deserve medals for the what they have to deal with, extremely rude visitors trying to sneak past and exceed the visitors limit, being rude to the nurses or asking them to perform menial tasks such as pouring them water or turning their Televisions off when they were perfectly capable of doing it themselves. The nurses and doctors always had a smile and were always very friendly, i was actually quite sad to leave...... What could be improved? There could have been more staff, especially on the night shift...the nurses took quite some time to attend to the call buttons because their level of work prevented them from doing so...
