Due to the fact I had been Glutened on Sunday 15 July , I became extremely dehydrated and after my family contacted the emergency line a para medic was called , who was wonder full and requested a ambulance , the paramedics that came were also wonderfull in the way I was treateted , and as it states I cannot name them I feel is a shame as the disserve my praise . I was admitted to A&E majors and recoieved excellent treatment from every member of staff , and was kept in over night and discharged on Monday 16 July .
My only concern was that none including the doctor seemed to understand that I had been Glutened and I felt they were treating me for food poisoning , and if you have knowledge about Celiac you would know there is a difference . When I was being discharged the nurse advised me to drink coke cola , when I asked why they said it was good for food poisoning , but celiac s cannot drink coma cola so that was dangerous advice .
Because as a Nhs trust you will be aware that more people are now being diognosed with celiac , what happened to me will be come more of a common occurrence into A&E . So please train at least a few members of staff to know the difference between celiac and food poisoning .
But a big thank you to everyone.
we have a wonderful free NHS .
