"Efficiency and kindness"

(as the patient),

I would like to thank all the nurses at the Department, and the surgeon, Mr Amin, for their efficiency and kindness during my endoscopy procedure yesterday.

The preparation for an endoscopy is not particularly enjoyable, nor is the procedure itself a bundle of fun, but everybody was extremely kind and reassuring which made my short stay as good as it could be in the circumstances. Everything was explained to me and I knew exactly what was happening and I was given my diagnosis and comments to take with me when I left. The cup of tea and biscuits at the end of the procedure was most welcome. The "meeter and greeter" at the door was very helpful, as was reception, and the cafe and fresh vegetable stall was bright and cheerful.

I know that the preparation for and having an endoscopy is not the most enjoyable experience and it was heartening to read that our staff made your time in the department as good as it could be. I agree that it makes a difference when you are kept well informed throughout your stay and on discharge.

I will be sure to share your post with Mr Amin and the nursing staff who will be very grateful for your kind words. I will also make sure that the staff that work in the areas that you mentioned in the reception area of the Queen Margaret receive your lovely feedback.
