Presented a&e at 2:00 am with daughter in acute abdomen pain. Filthy reception area with blood on floor, plastic bottles and coffee cups strewn around and spilt beverage everywhere; a large volume of fluid being all along the back wall under a row of chairs. Presented to receptionist eating a biscuit ignoring us while staring at pc for couple of mins and when challenged irritably stated '
I am booking ambulances' well sorry for not knowing your systems but my daughter is in agony and
I was very keen to get her seen asap. A simple 'be with you in a minute' maybe ??? However triaged quickly and nursing staff all very kind and approachable. Tried to control her pain but we had to wait til 09:30 am before we saw a doctor. Discharged at midday with pain relief and antibiotics for ?Infection/muscle spasm. Had to get daughter in wheelchair to get her into car as in extreme pain still. Forced to represent to ucc wch at 21;00 same night as pain was agonising and the treatment received could not compare .. Spotless areas, warm receptionist, seen quickly by doctor who was communicative and reassuring, urgent ct arranged , pain managed incredibly well all within 2 hours.
"Filthy a&e reception .. 7 and 1/2 hour wait to..."
