I was transferred to Salford following a major car accident earlier this month with my husband staying at the original hospital we were admitted to. My experience from A&E, through to the High Dependency Unit and eventually the Orthopaedic ward was so very different to his. The level of care I received was excellent, the commitment of the nursing and other support staff was second to none. I had regular contact with doctors and whilst I was frustrated with repeat cancellations of an operation I needed, it was recognised that other patients' circumstances were far more critical.
I was also provided with all the information and paperwork I needed on my discharge (my husband had nothing from his hospital just a few miles away).
I was going through possibly the worst week in my life when at Salford yet the staff did their utmost for me and made me as comfortable as I could be considering my injuries and treated me with absolute respect. Throughout some very personal assistance at times, I never felt as if I suffered any loss in dignity because of the way I was cared for. Thank you to all at Salford Royal for everything you have done for me.
"Excellent caring staff"
