Set against a backdrop of media driven 'NHS failing standards@ and 'NHS in crisis' stories I received an entirely different experience.
All I can say is that on a potentially dire day for me that had a happy outcome my summation of the service offered by the Ambulatory Care Unit is that it is simply staggering.
I'll repeat that... it is simply staggering.
The doctor we saw was superb.
A great listener, very competent explainer and so compassionate.
The Clinical Care Assistant on reception was wonderful.
They had an attitude and composure way beyond their years.
The nurse was very engaging and competent too.
The Bloods Unit turned results around blisteringly fast.
The CT (brain scan) was quickly and efficiently carried out and processed.
Even the WRVS people were lovely!
As I say, the outcome for me was positive and I am so relieved.
So, to all the fabulous people from those at the frontline to those right at the very top who make all of this happen - a huge, huge thank you, you really are setting some standards there and my very best wishes to all of you.
Yours, thankfully; Nick.
PS: to the doctor hope you enjoyed the hug from my very relieved wife!
