"cannot fault the team"

About: Good Hope Hospital / General medicine

(as a relative),

My father was admitted to Good Hope Hospital with cellulitis and unfortunately ended up with a nasty chest infection which led to sepsis. After an uncomfortable journey he became well enough to begin having physio and finally after a few more days as an inpatient he was discharged home. I can honestly say that initially I was disappointed with the care he received on AMU at Good Hope however when he was transferred to Ward 12 we all felt that the care was significantly better. One member of staff stood out for dad and ourselves, this being a young staff nurse called Aimee. We all feel that Aimee provided a high standard of professional care towards dad and was very efficient, as well as having a good sense of humour which we strongly feel dad needed. I am very proud of the overall staff on ward 12 and cannot fault the team.

Dear sjs

Thank you for your feedback regarding the care your father received when he was admitted to Good Hope Hospital via AMU.

I am sorry to read that you were initially disappointed with the care provided on AMU, but so pleased to read that you were much happier with the care given on Ward 12, particularly from Aimee, staff nurse.

I will be thrilled to ensure that your kind comments regarding Aimee's high standard of professional care, and good sense of humour which helped your father in his recovery are highlighted to the Ward Nurse Manager and the Matron who I'm sure will be very proud to read your comments and ensure that is communicated to all of the ward team, who work very hard to provide a positive patient experience in often difficult circumstances and pressures. In particular, to Aimee, who displays two of the many qualities required to be a great nurse!

I hope this action is acceptable. Once again, thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback it is extremely important to us.

My best wishes to your father who I hope is doing much better.

Kind regards

Marie Helebert
