The pre-op was comprehensive. Although 59 this was my first time ever in hospital so in at the deep-end for a nerve-sparing RALP!
It was a bit of a shock to be wide awake as I entered the cold op theatre and mounted "the slab" for the epidural but soon I was out of it and awoke without pain.
I had a pleasant room to myself and the post-op care was excellent.
No pain - just tired and ravenously hungry!
Everything healed well but what I called "my pipes" (the catheter) became tiresome although after just a fortnight I wasback on my motorbike and after 6 wks was back to my pre-op condition. A little incontinence to start with but "things" below seemed to work fairly normally. The surgeon and their team completed an excellent op - well done and thanks.
