My mother was 'talked at' to obtain a 'do not resuscitation notice' on her first day at Abingdon Community Hospital.
I was told she agreed to this. Knowing my mother's previous wishes I questioned this.
I visited my mother who said she was confused and didn't want to be denied resuscitation.
4 days later I was again contacted by the doctor who again said my mother had agreed to DNR
On visiting my mother she again said this is not what she wanted. She had been overwhelmed by being confronted by a doctor and senior nurse.
I have a recording of my mother's explanation of what happened.
I have so much more to add. I feel that my mother's human rights may have been breached.
I do feel that my mother should have had an advocate present to represent her.
