"I don't want to be worried about my grandfather"

My grandfather was admitted recently and wasn’t given food till I went in the next day. They said to me it was due to staff shortages. His bed and cloths were sodden and they admitted to me he hadn’t been changed since that morning. I think this goes on too much, I thought the ward was filthy. I live in London and in my opinion the quality of staff and surroundings are so different here. We are currently trying to get my grandfather moved closer to home. I don’t want to be worried about whether he’s being fed and watered. I live 80 miles away and can’t keep making the journey to make sure this has happened. We feel as a family that he’s been failed.
