"Ectopic pregnancy/Miscarriage"

The nurses, HCAs and sister were amazing and a credit to their professions. Totally understood my pain, heartbreak and distress, as did the first doctor who looked after me. I was in agony and the staff who scanned me, they had NO compassion and I felt like a diagnosis NOT a person, I had bloods taken at 2am but they seemed to disappear.

I was seen later on by a lovely doctor with glasses who was young, professional and had empathy. Unlike the more senior doctor with her. I was seen by several different doctors I was left to starve fro three days in case surgery needed, the goalposts kept changing with each doctor.

The final doctor I saw tbh lost count of how many I saw over three days came with the 'good news' as she put it my pregnancy was failing! I know for her it was good news as it meant I was out of danger as far as the ectopic was concerned, but had to wait until Monday for another scan as no sonographers available at the weekend. I was totally heart broken and was relieved to be sent home with pain relief, even though it was still in my best interests to stay as I was still at risk. By this time I couldn't feel anymore broken and had to keep having blood tests as the levels still aren't low. Enough yet.

I'm pleased to say that a lovely nurse helped me with my grief and has been wonderful. I used to work for the NHS and understand the pressures, but please doctors remember the delicate nature of this ward and that some of your patients are grieving ladies, not just a diagnosis!
