"colposcopy/ gynaecology"

About: Queen Alexandra Hospital

Staff may be under stress but total lack of respect and very dismissive. Don t read properly notes so not equipped to perform some procedures despite telling you how important it is to have it done then give you an appointment for the following year. Was even asked on few occasions if I have children when I have been treated for years for unexplained infertility. After weeks of being worried and concerns about some results, got an appointment to be only given a leaflet to explain the procedure ( leaflet which could have been downloaded from internet). Had to go private but as I was told it was my choice...maybe but despite the cost I am glad I did it as if I did wait I would have had my uterus removed. Cannot praise the service for its efficiency and care especially when told during a consultation " I don t have to listen to you".

I am very sorry that you have had such bad experiences within the Gynaecology Department.

If you would like to discuss this further with a member of staff, please contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) at PHT.Pals@porthosp.nhs.uk or via the free phone on 0800 9176039 and give them your details and they will be more than happy to help you.

Kind regards.

Debbie
