My daughter was booked to give birth at Cramlington hospital and in slow and very painful labour she was turned away twice. Eventually when she was being very sick and we were told rather patronisingly over the phone that she could go back to the hospital at any time but to be prepared to be sent home again, we knew we did not want to go back there. Worried about my daughter and that she hadn't felt her baby move for some time, we took her to the RVI where they endeavered to reassure her that all was well. She was obviously very anxious and quite upset at this stage. The baby's heartbeat was dropping, something that Cramlington had failed to check. Fortunately under the expert care of the Maternity staff of the RVI my daughter went on to have a healthy baby. The RVI provided the good standard of care that you would expect from a Maternity hospital. Cramlington was a disgrace! Avoid at all costs!
"In Labour, avoid this hospital!"
