"GP response to me asking for my blood pressure to be taken."

About: NHS Lanarkshire

(as the patient),

Appointment at the surgery where I have been a patient for over 60 years.

Called on time by GP, obviously new to Practice I did not recognise this doctor.

Followed her from waiting room into surgery.

She did not introduce herself.

Brisk, business like manner.

After she dealt with my issue, I asked her to check my blood pressure.  The practice nurse who normally does this was on holiday.

She replied, No, saying that I had already had 13 minutes and I should only have 10.

I was taken aback, she got to her feet and made for the door, indicating the appointment was over.

I know her name from the prescription she gave me.

I feel she should have taken the extra, 2 minutes or so to check my blood pressure.

She offered no alternative to how I could have it checked.

Dear Zola,

Thanks for getting in touch - however I was sorry to read about your recent experience with your GP. I can completely understand why you felt your request wasn't listened to or actioned.

If you would like me to pass on your concerns to the local practice manager I'd be more than happy to assist, if you can contact me directly on 01698 858 292 or via email laura.jack@lanarkshire.scot.nhs.uk

Many thanks

Laura
