After an off duty paramedic saw me looking unwell waiting for the IOW Ferry on Friday - they recognised stoke systems and got me to an ambulance on the Hard in 5 mins - within 30 minutes I was having a CT scan at the QA. I was taken good care of in the ambulance, when I arrived a Doctor explained where I was and what would happen next, after the scan the team on F4 ward welcomed me and kept me informed of what was going on.The consultants and doctors were very concerned to keep me informed of all things they were considering about some damage to a vein in my neck and although I had recovered immediately, kept me in to take advice from other experts in other hospitals. I am home now and as I was well during my stay I was able to observe the hectic work in the stroke ward over 5 days - the care was exceptional for everyone. I noted that a lot of my excellent nursing care came from multi cultural staff - they were a truly diverse team with great communication skills and were working together to do a a professional job. Well done Queen Alexandra - keep up the good work. Thank you NHS my faith in our great NHS project is born out by first hand experience.PS - The food was good.
