What I liked

I'm trying to think of something I liked but it's difficult. A few of the nurses were nice but my experience was that on the whole they are not a very caring profession any more. The floors were cleaned but tables which we ate off was not cleaned in the 8 days I was there neither was the oxygen mask.

What could be improved

More training for staff on how to deal with patients. Staff other than trained nurses to be responsible for bedpan/commode duty and changing sheets.

Anything else?

Why give call bells if they are just going to be ignored? Don't only publish comments that are favourable for the hospital. All the people I know who have had experience of East Surrey have also said that it is a hospital they would not want to be admitted to as the standards of cleanliness and care have deteriorated instead of getting better.

We have implemented additional training for nurses with the result that our CDiff rates have more than halved in the last three years. However, there is always room for improvement and your comment will be fed back to our management team.
