"a long night"

About: Gloucestershire Royal Hospital / Accident and emergency South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as the patient),

Last night I started having a pain in my chest and back before dinner. family was worried and decided to call ambulance. The paramedics arrived from Gloucester in about 30 mnts, they were fantastic, kind, calm an d professional. The girl was a young paramedic and had been working for a year and a half. I was pretty tired and worried but she kept me awake with her stories about her work and family and I also told her something about me. I needed to be distracted because it was the first time on an ambulance and all situation worried me a lot. She kept looking at the machine on the ambulance whilst talking to me and writing her notes about how situation was during the journey to AE. The gentleman paramedic was also fantastic. He was a big and strong man and looked so calm and comfortable with what he was doing. I never felt uneasy whilst he was putting bits and pieces on my bodies to check my heart. His smile calmed me down

He was driving and arrived at the hospital in Gloucester he spent a long time with me before he left for another emergency.

Thanks very much to these angels! 5 stars!

I spent the whole night there and also the nurses were lovely. I stayed in a cubicle and later in the morning I was given a bed. At that point my husband and friend had gone home.

A couple of things concerning cleanliness. On the floor of the cubicle they put me in I spotted some blood not properly washed off and some other stains which did not look great near the sockets. All in all a great service from the professional and human point of view
