I was booked for induction and I was shown to my bed, a small bay with no TVs. The ward was VERY noisy with buzzers going off all the time and no one answering them, eventually I was seen by a doctor and the induction was started.
I found the housekeeping staff to be ok. Wouldn't go any further than that.... The midwifes I had were all so busy that you often didn't get seen by anyone for hours, when the staff changed to the night I was introduced to, in my opinion, the loudest rudest midwife ever, she spoke to everyone in my bay like it was 2pm and acceptable to shout. I felt that I was spoken to by her like I was some dirt on her shoe and it got me so upset I had a panic attack and my partner had to tell her to get lost and not to talk to me for the rest of the night, the ladies also agreed that she was bang out of order.
When I was in labour on the ward it was night time the next day, no one wanted to help me and I had the worst bath ever, dirty and shallow. I was crying out in pain but all I could hear was the rude nurse from the night before and the other staff moaning about there shifts for the week. I was finally offered pain killers, the nurse said it was ready and to get to my bed, it didn't come for two hours, in the mean time I was trying not to fall off my bed as I was so tired and in a world of pain.
Come morning the consultant said I could go down to delivery. Could not fault the staff down there and my doctor. She was wonderful. Well the time came to return to ward d. Was dreading going back up. Well I was put in a bay opposite someone that was shouting. There was no peace and no one was willing to help me. I was clueless being a new mum. Anyway, I went as soon as I could. I will never have another baby here.
