"CDU and Watd 29"

I had a short stay on CDU and Ward 29 recently. I was impressed how well run and responsive CDU staff were despite being extremely busy they were friendly professional and made sure they had time to fully explain what was wrong what my options were and what treatment plans they had. The Matron was visible and clearly runs an efficient responsive service. The hospital pharmacist did let the team down a bit with her superior attitude, but this was counterbalanced by the core CDU team. Similarly Ward 29 were very professional and a credit to the hospital. The ward team especially the hostesses and one particular HCA (details sent to CEO) were brilliant at making me relaxed. The nurses explained my condition and helped me understand what was happening and nothing was too much for them. The medical team were the same having time to speak and explain things despite being extremely busy. A stark contrast to LRI. As a nurse myself I was critical but I have no criticism for the clinical teams only admiration and gratitude. I have follow on treatment which is a worry but knowing this is how the team work I feel confident my future care will be as good. Thank you CDU and Ward 29 for restoring faith in the NHS.
