All the other times I have visited the maternity unit I've left feeling a bit grumpy, for variety of reasons, generally around a total lack of organisation and cleanliness.
Today (24.6) I went to the antenatal assessment centre because of reduced foetal movements. The little monkey turned out to be absolutely fine and merrily kicked me for the full half hour I was on the monitors. While there I was under the care of one of the midwives. I really cannot say enough how fantastic they were! They were calm, reassuring, friendly and really went above and beyond to make myself and my husband comfortable and keep us informed. We ended up seeing a doctor too and again they were lovely.
I really hope this midwife can read this feedback because they honestly turned something which could have been very stressful into a calm and positive experience. If we're allowed to request midwives at the births they are top of our list, thank you.
