"Urgent referral and treatment for Quinsy"

About: Royal National Throat, Nose & Ear Hospital

I was urgently referred to RNTNE following confirmation of severe Quinsy infection by Royal Free A&E. RNTNE arranged transportation for me and, despite the urgent referral unit being very busy and the on-call SHO having to respond to a few emergencies, staff ensured I was comfortable and treated as soon as possible.

Following initial treatment, I was admitted overnight to allow a second day of IV antibiotics and steroids and all staff were friendly, courteous and ensured I was comfortable.

Everything was explained clearly on discharge and I am now recovering at home and very thankful to all staff involved in my prompt and effective treatment.
