"Very unsympathetic Doctor"

About: Lister Hospital

My husband attended A&E after being beaten up very badly.

The doctor who saw him treated him as though his injuries were his fault (they definitely weren't).

He had severe bruising to his head and face and whilst he was sent for a head x-ray, when the results came back that he didn't have any fractures the doctor sent us on our way whilst recommending ibuprofen, which for my husband is contra-indicated due to other medication he is on, that the doctor was aware of.

No head injury leaflet or advice what to do if anything changed in his condition was forthcoming.

He also has some cracked ribs and whilst we know they do not x-ray for these, no investigations were made to make sure he had no internal injuries.

I have previously had excellent care within Lister and cannot say how shocked and disappointed I am with this situation.

We're really sorry that you and your husband were not happy with the care he received on attending the Lister's emergency department recently.

If you would like to get this followed up, we would be more than happy to put you in touch with a member of the senior clinical team so that you can discuss your concerns with them directly.

If you would like us to help you do that, then please just email us at generalenquiries.enh-tr@nhs.net.

In the meantime, thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention.
