I had come to the IOW on holiday when I fell and fractured my femur so I arrived at St Mary's with no preconceptions at all about the hospital or the standard of treatment I might receive. From the moment I arrived in A&E until my discharge six days later I was always treated with care and respect and I felt I was very fortunate to be in such good hands. I spent time on both Luccombe and Alverstone wards and everyone I came into contact with was professional and caring with time to talk to me and offer reassurance when I needed it.
The food was consistently good and all the ancillary staff and volunteers I met were friendly and helpful.
Altogether I came away with a very positive impression of the standard of care in both the orthopaedic department and the hospital in general.
Many thanks to everyone who contributed to my care.
"What a great team of people you have at St Mary's"
