What I liked

Well, the first ward (C7) was brilliant, staff could not do enough for my relative. Any request was no problem at all and the treatment was great. From then on, it went downhill...

What could be improved

The second ward (B6) was not good at all. The nurses took 10 minutes to come when the bedside buzzer was pressed. Then, when asked to administer some medicine for a painful eye, it took 90 minutes plus (visiting was over at this point and still no medication had been given). Also, when my relative asked for help going to the bathroom, they insisted that she was completely mobile and should try herself. She got to the bathroom and fell over, and subsequently, broke her hip (revealed on a later x-ray) She then became very poorly and because the nurses could not find anything wrong (although she had all the symptons of shock) she was treated for an unknown infection. She is gradually getting better, waiting to be fit for surgery on her hip, but not much thanks to the nurses on B6. Also, when I asked about the procedure for viewing medical records, the nurses simply said that it was not AT ALL possible, and that the incident had been noted in the accident book (which when questioned the following day, another senior nurse said no such thing existed.

Anything else?

I forgot to mention that she was left crying for help on the floor for 20-30 minutes, despite nurses walking past.
