"worst experience ever"

About: John Radcliffe Hospital

I feel that the staff do not care or bother about their work, or take it seriously mainly focusing on the morning shift staff. I agree that the two members of staff from the ambulance service were very helpful and polite however I am not satisfied with the staff or service at the John Radcliffe hospital. This is because I feel that many staff in the Gynaecology wards are impolite and disrespectful towards the visitors when asked a question; they seem to be agitated. I feel that every workers attitude should be positive around others. We were taken by ambulance to the hospital due to severe pains in the lower stomach thinking that there may be an appendicitis however was sent home after waiting for a good 6-7 hours. I still was suffering from the same pain but worse than before and therefore went to an emergency appointment at the doctors which then required me to go to the hospital. They had then finally discovered that I do have appendicitis and required surgery the following morning. I felt that doctors were confused and impractical with their work. The staff were absolutely disrespectful and rude to my children sending them out of the ward and put them in the waiting area with clearly evident dirty pillows. The wait was about 7 hours to be checked by a doctor, my pain was unbearable that I had to ask for a doctor/nurse however this took about 15 minutes to actually happen. I feel that the service is very slow and staff should be highly trained about manners and attitudes towards their patients and patients family members. Absolutely disgusting.
