About: Selly Oak Hospital (Acute)

(as a relative),

What I liked

I would like to acknowledge the dedication/ commitment and nursing professionalism to all staff on ward B3. Our farther spent 7 weeks as an in patient on B3 and he received nothing but the best nursing care. His care plans and treatment was adjusted as his needs / requirements changed ensuring he received the best possible care available under an extremely complicated illness with additional contributory factors which only added to a general decline in his health and well being. The staff are totally committed to providing respect / dignity and skill mix at all times. The communication and liaison with my family over the best treatment and possible care packages available was extremely sensitive and professional at all times. Nothing was inconvenient, and we could not have wished for better treatment or care for our father. All the nursing staff on this ward should be highly commended and I feel that they are a credit to your hospital. Thank you.

What could be improved

I think staffing should be looked at to ensure ward staff are not overworked.

Anything else?

I I would also like to extend our heart warmed thanks to consultants and medical team, who always made time to discuss and liaise with us. I would like to acknowledge the student nurses who were extremely caring and spent time ensuring our father was never alone. The students behavior and professional conduct was also a credit to there mentors.
