"amazing experience in labour"

About: Stoke Mandeville Hospital

When i gave birth to my son in january 2015 the care i received was nothing short of amazing, i had a long, hard labour, but there was always a midwife in the room for the whole 16hours, they were all friendly but also were stern in an appropriate manner such as instructing me to lay on my left side as my sons heartbeat was irregular despite me protesting it was less comfortable they kept very professional kind but firm guidance.

They also were very respectful to the large influx of relatives waiting for him to arrive outside, and soothed any fears i had.

Everything was clean and the care i received on the ward was good too. The nice touch for me was that my son was born at 17.17pm and i passed out for 3hours during stitching, i was taken up to the ward at 11pm but they allowed my husband to stay for 1hr to help settle me in due to me passing out. This was a very appreciated measure! ?

Dear Hannahrose

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments on this site.

We are very pleased to learn that you feel the care you received during the delivery of your son in January 2015, at Amersham Hospital, was amazing, desite it being a long, hard labour for you. It is further pleasing to hear that you found the conditions on the ward to be clean and caring. I will pass your valuable feedback on to our maternity department for recognition of how well their staff have worked together to ensure our patients are treated with compassion dignity and respect.

I wish you and your family a happy future.
