We had an awful experience here at he Minor Injuries Unit with my 4 year old daughter and an injured finger.
The Nurse was kind & caring throughout but overestimated their own / the units abilities & effectively caused more harm than good. My daughter suffered more than half an hour of uncomfortable manipulation (without pain relief) before the nurse & the doctor disagreed over the appropriate course of action (in front of us) with the final result being merely a bandage & being sent away to hope for the best.
We sought a second opinion at QMC that same evening where my daughter ended up under a general anaesthetic for surgery to repair her finger by a paediatrics plastics consultant.
Newark should have understood that they were unequipped to provide adequate care & advised us to seek treatment elsewhere. Instead they attempted a "patch" & said maybe it would all be ok.
I would not trust them for care again.
"Never using again"
