About: Bandrum Nursing Home

(as a service user),

The staff look after you if you need help. I enjoy the activities, including ten pin bowling and going on visits. I like playing chess and I also enjoy the quietness around the place.

I think that the meals could be improved as they can be a bit bland. There could also be a bit more variety of entertainment.

I'd like to see more artworks around the halls and the building.

I was told a while ago about an exercise class, but I've not heard anything since. I'd appreciate it if staff could help me a bit more with my motivation.

Thank you very much for taking your time to tell your story about Bandrum. We really value your feedback as it helps us continue to improve.

I'm happy to hear your positive points about our staff. I'm sorry that you find the food bland. It can be hard catering for everyone's different tastes, but we would like to do our very best and ensure our menu and options suits everyone. As a result of your comments, we will issue a menu/catering survey to ensure we have everyone's feedback and find out what new additions /changes people would like. In the mean time please do speak to your nurse in charge if any of your choices are not as good as you would like so we can improve them then and there for you.

I also appreciate your comments about the activities and art work. We have 3 activity organisers who design the activity program quarterly with the residents to put on a variety of things that the residents want. Please ask your Nurse to have them come and see you about the full program including the exercise class you were interested in. I'm also keen to hear you like art work as we currently have lots of residents art work up in the corridors and more to go up in the cafe. If you are interested in some different types of artwork, do speak to activities and we will do our best to display what you are looking for. Thank you very much for taking to time to tell your story.

Good day. Here's a short update following this really useful story.

We are delighted to say that following your story we have revamped our specific menu survey, collated the feedback and interviewed anyone who added comments. From the story and survey feedback we have since revamped the menu and will continue to monitor both the food and our residents feedback on it.

We are so grateful for the comments in the story as it has really helped us make positive changes.
