I was recently admitted into Ninewells hospital and was taken to ward 15, I was totally disgusted by the manner the nurses treated me. There body language and tone when talking to me made me think they did not want to be there and I was a inconvenience to them. After I was assessed and given an xray, I requested my medication, which I was told I was not receiving ( even though I have been on this medication for years). I tried to explain that I needed this due you my chronic abdominal pain, and again I was refused. It took my son to call and talk to someone before I got any medication. I was then transferred to ward 27, where the nurses and health care assistants were absolutely fantastic.
This was all after my previous experience of the time I was in hospital before when I was given an overdose of morphine by the nurse and I stopped breathing and had no pulse, it took my partner to go to get a nurse as I was given injection and then left alone in the room. If he had not been there I would not be here today as all I remember is getting the injection then waking up receiving CPR and my chest was really sore.
I really am scared of being admitted into Ninewells due to previous negative experiences and I am due to how in for an operation which I am very apprehensive about.
