"I live abroad. My father was taken ..."

About: Queen Elizabeth I I Hospital (Welwyn Garden City)

(as a relative),

What I liked

I live abroad. My father was taken in and the only contact I have is through the hospital, the receptionist who took my call to find out which ward my father was on was helpful, considerate and friendly, they gave me all information and the telephone number of the ward for the next time I telephoned then put me directly on to the ward, the nurse answered the phone and couldn't have been nicer. They updated me on my fathers condition and promised to find out more information from the doctors to give to me later on today. I feel totally confident that my father is in the best place possible.

What could be improved

Nothing.

Anything else?

I live in the Republic of Ireland and although the NHS is streched to it's limit they do an amazing job, I just wish we had access to the doctors, nurses and facilities you have.

We're sorry not to have responded sooner, but your comments have only just reached us via the NHS Choices automated alerting system. Gremlins at work clearly!

But despite the time that has elapsed, we were very pleased to read your comments - they are much appreciated. We do hope that you and your father continue to do well.
