What I liked
Our mum was treated in the Princes wing of the QE2 where she had a knee replacement in Oct'09. The standard of care afforded to her by the daytime staff was outstanding, the nurses were an absolute credit to the NHS and their care and compassion when looking after her was exceptional. We could not have asked for anymore and just knowing that she was under such wonderful care made us feel so much better. Nothing was too much trouble and any questions or concerns we had about her recovery was dealt with in a kind and compassionate manner. The after care has also been superb and we couldn't praise the staff enough. Keep up the fantastic work!
What could be improved
The only concern we did have was with the night time staff, who we understand were not very nice to our mum & also other patients. We were told they constantly made a lot of noise at night, so the patients were unable to sleep, the staff were very inconsiderate and a lot of the time totally ignored my mum's requests for help. she felt very intimidated by them and in the end was afraid to ask for anything.
Anything else?
Overall we would recommend the QE2 to anyone and hope their experience is as good as ours was.
