"Long wait, but excellent consultation"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Gynaecology (Ward 49) Sandyford Clinic

(as the patient),

I feel I have been caught in a ridiculous system in the NHS for treatment of endometriosis; having to book to see my GP, referred to a hospital consultant but with no clear follow-up, so then I chased another appointment with the gynae consultant who suggested a treatment that could be done via my GP - who said I had to first book in a telephone consultation, and then convinced me I'd be better off going to the Sandyford!

However, when I finally was seen by Dr Scott at the Sandyford, I had an excellent consultation and left completely satisfied. All this time was wasted when the procedure could simply have been done in the gynae clinic during my second consultation. Many months and many healthcare professionals' time wasted...
