"Hysterectomy"

About: Arrowe Park Hospital

From start to finish my treatment and care has been first class throughout. At a scary and sometimes anxious time my fears were always dealt with with empathy and concise responses. Outpatient appointments were always on time, if not earlier - the nurses in this department are lovely and the pre op nurse was amazing. My consultant was diligent, professional, straight talking and gave me all my options - it was with their guidance that I knew I had made the right decision. On day of procedure I was so anxious but my fears were allayed by the wonderful matron and nurses in pre surger ward - the receptionist on that day was wonderful and helpful. My consultant came to see me and explained exactly what was to take place, The anaesthetist was compassionate and made my ranging heartbeat beat a little less rigorous. I walked to theatre with a lovely theatre nurse and I simply cannot remember anything else .... Only hiccup was a bad reaction to the anaesthetic which made me sick - I was moved to Ward 54. Consultant popped in again to see me and explained all went well. Nurses on night shift took over and they were so caring more so at a time when I felt vulnerable and helpless. Pain meds were given and can honestly say I was never in any pain. Consultant came again in the morning and discharged me . I cannot thank all staff concerned in the department enough - they all do a wonderful job .
