I have been referred to ENT after finding a lump in my neck. Though it has taken a long time and l am still waiting for histology results, l cannot complain about the care l have received. The specialist and surgeon l saw, along with their teams have been wonderful, very supportive and helpful. The staff on B6 and nursing care were also really good, nothing was too much trouble.

My only complaint concerns waiting in the pre assessment unit. It is not very comfortable and when you are feeling stressed and nervous it does not help you feel relaxed. The staff were good and l understand why the system has been introduced, but couldn't they have more comfortable chairs. The addition of a TV l don't feel would be of much help when you are sitting there for four hours, as l was. Though on the plus side my husband was able to stay with me till l was called to the operating theatre.

Overall l would like to say a big thank you to everybody and say l appreciate all of the hard work that has been done to help me.

We have recently made some improvements to our pre-operative assessment waiting area and so it is disappointing to hear that you found this area uncomfortable. The unit has a variety of chairs (for example, soft and firm, high and low) to help suit the preferences of the wide variety of patients but can only apologise if you found the chair you sat on uncomfortable.
